Welcome to the "Why (should I) Care?" - Social Justice Unit for schools.
This website has been developed to provide an introduction to Social Justice.
Promoting Social Justice involves challenging structures in society where individuals and groups experience unfair treatment and receive an unjust share of the benefits of society. This website encourages the reader to develop their understanding of social justice and to examine what they think is unfair in Irish society.
In this website information is provided on homelessness and housing, and crime and prisoners; two subject areas that the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice has particular concerns over. Both groups: prisoners, and people who are homeless, are amongst the most vulnerable people in Irish society. They experience discrimination and hardship in their daily lives. |
