Unfortunately the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice no longer has the resources to keep this site updated. There is still a complete record of answers to written questions from September 2007 to July 2009. In its work in relation to prisons, policing, youth justice, and asylum and immigration issues, the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice has found the replies to Parliamentary Questions put to the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to be a valuable source of information on policy development and service delivery. To see pictures taken at the launch of this site click here All Parliamentary Questions and the replies to them are recorded in the Official Record of the Dáil which can be accessed on the Oireachtas website. However, in light of the volume of information in the Official Record, the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice considered it would be helpful to re-produce as many as possible of the replies to questions put to the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform on a separate website with an easy-to-use searchable format.
This site therefore contains answers to the Written Parliamentary Questions put to the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in the 30th Dáil. All questions directed to him, other than those that are related to specific individuals and regions, are reproduced here.
The site also includes a short Introduction to the subject of Parliamentary Questions and an outline of the Oral Questions process and the Written Questions process. You can search the entries by subject , date , whom the question was posed by , or by a specific keyword . Click the pictures below to view short video clips of four TDs from different political parties giving their personal reflections on the subject of Parliamentary Questions.
